The Application-Season Cohort
Some families want the MeritChart System's structure with company: a defined season, a shared calendar, and guided checkpoints at the moments where merit money is actually won or lost. The application-season cohort is that format — a done-with-you program in which a small group of families works through the same application season together, each building its own list, on its own facts, with structured support at each stage.
What a cohort season includes
- Structured checkpoints across the season. Scheduled working sessions keyed to the calendar that governs merit: list-building before applications open, deadline management through the fall, award-letter review in the decision months, and appeal preparation in the window before deposit deadlines.
- List reviews. Each family's list is reviewed against the discipline the System teaches: guaranteed-automatic money as the foundation, consideration money labeled and kept out of committed totals, deadlines verified against colleges' published pages, and balance across reach, match, and safety in both admission and financial terms.
- Deadline management. Cohort families work from a shared season calendar layered over each student's own Deadline and Renewal Tracker, with checkpoint reviews at the dates where a miss is expensive — scholarship deadlines, score deadlines, and deposit deadlines.
- Appeal support. When award letters arrive, cohort sessions cover the Appeal Playbook in application: whether a legitimate basis for appeal exists in the family's documented facts, how the evidence packet is assembled, and how the request is sequenced against the deposit deadline. Families write and submit their own appeals; the cohort provides the structure, the review, and the calendar discipline.
What the cohort is not
The cohort is a structured working group built on this System's curriculum and tools. It does not include representation before any college, does not communicate with colleges on a family's behalf, and does not promise any admissions, scholarship, or appeal outcome — awards are made by colleges under their own policies, and no program can change that. Families considering whether they need individually credentialed professional counsel for complex financial circumstances should seek it; the cohort does not present itself as a substitute for it.
Pricing and enrollment
Cohort pricing is $1,500–$2,500 depending on scope — the season's length, the number of structured checkpoints, and the depth of list and appeal review included in a given season's design. The exact scope and price of a season are published when that season's enrollment opens.
Cohort enrollment opens seasonally and is not currently open. Cohort size is kept deliberately small so that list reviews and appeal preparation receive real attention, and places are offered to the interest list in order when a season is announced.
Join the list
Joining the list carries no cost and no obligation. Families on the list receive the season announcement — dates, scope, price, and cohort size — when enrollment opens, along with occasional MeritChart updates on newly verified colleges added to the dataset. In the meantime, the free calculator and the $397 System stand on their own: a family that builds its list well with those tools will arrive at any future cohort season already ahead of the calendar.
